I mean, walks will happen too. We revere hitters who draw them, so it's not just the pitcher's fault.

Walks are also basically built in to today's prototypical relief pitcher. It's a fine line. Soto's still not on the right side of it but they knew that when they got him (i.e. he was seen more as a future Alvarado than a truly meritorious closer/All-Star).

Oof. Gotta win this game and also now the whole pen is gonna be used (a few guys probably not available either).

Yes, the walk hurts, but the two doubles knock Soto out of the game and get the runs in.

Somehow, even as the Phillies were building up a very nice lead tonight, I am thinking that they would need more runs. I sure hope the bullpen can stop this and hold the Padres to the 7 already scored, but it sure feels like the Phillies need to score more runs.
