I definitely believe Gosselin over Haseley was because of this. Harper was different. Hopefully they just want to help him get out of his slump. They also would not tell us of a nagging injury.

Porcello has weird splits this year, getting pounded by righties, murder on lefties.
That explained some of the lineup decisions, like picking this game for a slumping Harper to sit.

Arrieta had a decent game, he's been up and down this season, hopefully he can go on a contract year run.
But thankfully we only gave him a 3 year deal.
Remember when people wanted to sign Corbin?

He's now 31, in the 2nd year of his deal and his FB has dropped 2 MPH. Still has a killer slider, but his FIP the last three years, 2.61, 3.59, 3.96.

One reason I was more comfortable with Wheeler was a year less, and far more velocity with no sign of an imminent decline. And he's not a high effort thrower, which bodes well for maintaining velocity as he ages.

They wouldn't, but sometimes a slump is just a slump. In this season, it's hard to have any perspective. Whether it's a slump or an IL stint, a couple of weeks can be 15-25% of the season.

So it's probably also hard to know what should be played through. I'm sure several of our guys are playing through things that are no better or worse than Haseley and Kingery's injuries, but it's guys who are less replaceable. Bohm made it easy to replace Haseley with Kingery (though that seems misguided in hindsight) and Kingery's play made it easy to IL him and hold on to Walker.
