Yeah, he could have used better players, but he also could have made better choices about who to play when, and how much. He doesn't get off the hook for not riding out Bohm's issue the same way he thought he could ride out Didi's. And Torreyes was his guy (as was Didi, he certainly played a role in signing him to begin with and I'm sure his love of the guy played a role in making that choice again).
Of course once Hoskins went down, compounded by Williams on the COVID list and Janskowski getting hurt, he didn't even have platoon options for CF or LF. And JT getting hurt made it even harder.
Assuming they do it. (I'm sure they will, but hasn't happened yet!)
