I think so. It eliminates the double play if they pitch to Bruce, and if they walk Bruce as they did, it loads the bases, setting up the potential walk and forcing the pitcher to come in to the hitters.

Are you mistaking Gosselin for Bruce?

Oops, yes. I was looking at the box score and forgot they pinch ran for Bruce. I was not watching the game or I might have noticed which side of the plate the hitter was on (briefly).️
