Thinking anecdotally, it seemed to me that Nola never seems to do well in September. So, I checked BR and interestingly found that he seems to generally have a June swoon every season (7-7, 4.72 ERA, 1.391 WHIP). September, however, is clearly his second worst month (7-11, 4.21 ERA, 1.279 WHIP).
It does kind of feel like this team checked out in Washington.
