Crazy thing about this season is they're force feeding rookies like it's a rebuilding year, due to the rash of injuries, and so far, the rookies don't look out of place.
I'm not sure letting JT walk is the worst thing, he'll be 30, he's starting to get dinged on a regular basis, if they're not a 90-95 win team with him, is he worth $100+M for 5 years in a flat cap environment? With the emergence of Bohm, and Hopkins rediscovering his mojo, JT's offense isn't as important as it was to start the season and this team needs to clear a lot of cap room to have flexibility going forward.
Right now Harper is really pressing, and with the back, I'm not sure he's even worth playing - Bruce is the better bet in RF, but they don't have a lot of viable options at DH.
Wheeler did a good job of settling down, but his command was off to start the game, the finger?
Russo has a strong outing, Brogdon has a couple good outings - maybe if we had a real season we'd develop some of these kids into a solid second half bullpen, but time is running out.
Next season Brogdon, Russo, Romero may be a good start to a rebuilt pen. Get Arano back? Morgan, Alvarez, Neris.
