This guy simply cannot pitch at the major league level. I am baffled that so many can’t see it. I know he had one 3 inning game that was good, but EVERY other outing since his 3rd start of the season has been some form of disaster (save 1). Everyone in our organization is better

It'd be funny if it wasn't funny. There's only one more turn for this spot in the rotation. Who gets it? And did they ruin Walker's chance at a roster spot in long relief by making him start again.

We can all see he stinks bkeich, we just haven't seen Michael Mercado or Tyler Phillips or Johnson or Allard be demonstrably better. The tragedy, of course, is what happened with Turnbull, though history says he would have gotten injured anyway.

And also, they really did want to go with a six-man but both Walker or Allard weren't good enough for them to burn two spots a week like that.

That's what I mean. I really think he was a lock based on being okay mopping up and still no better or worse than the other final options. I also think he only got pulled from the rotation because the fans and media couldn't take it anymore, because they obviously didn't believe in Allard or Phillips, correctly, (and never wanted to use Johnson). All of that had diminished since he was out of the rotation, and now it's back.

If they fall to the third seed the failed to get another arm will look bad but if they fall to the third seed there will be a lot of other failings too. 1 vs. 2, I don't think you trade two prospects for a fifth starter just for that (and the Phillies reportedly inquired after better starters but wouldn't meet the price, understandably).

Sadly I expect there are 2 more turns, as I hope it is foolish for Nola to start the last game of the season because hopefully we have wrapped up the #1 seed.

I think it is clear that Allard is better, his last 4 starts have 3 good and 1 bad. He isn’t great, but at no point has he looked this silly bad.

And yes, there is no way they should consider Walker for the post season roster.

I don’t think there is any reason not to bring him back for Spring Training, maybe there is some organic reason for his complete failure this year, but I would expect him to compete for the end of the bullpen not starting (but if he earns better). It is sunk money, so judge him based on performance not contract.
