Giants up 2-0 over the Braves in the 6th inning

I feel like Michael Corleone. “Every time I think this team is out, they pull me back in”

Nice win tonight. Solid pitching from Nola and enough from the pen to hold the lead. Win for Nola and a save for Kennedy. His 1-2-3 ninth was great to see.

Segura with a pair of solo home runs and key doubles from Galvis and Harper provided the necessary offense.

A very good win. Phillies win the series in NYC and go fort a sweep tomorrow.

Phillies have won 6 straight versus the Mets. And have win the season series.. currently 10-8 on the year

They've been on MLB Network tonight and last night. I'm sure that will continue to be the case while they're out west some nights (maybe not in Arizona).

Giants win!

Amazingly enough, as the Phillies have now won 4 in a row, the Braves have lost 4 in a row.

After the game in New York tomorrow, the Phillies have 7 at home with the Orioles and Pirates. Seems that would favor the Phillies but we have seen how poorly they can do against losing teams. That said, I have to feel good about their chances. I hope that by the time the Phillies go to Atlanta for 3 games at the end of the month, the Phillies will be a couple games ahead of the Braves. Could happen, but the Phillies have to beat up on the Orioles and Pirates and hope the Braves struggle some with their games on the road in Arizona and San Diego.

The season is not over yet. Why not win the NL East and at least get a playoff series this October?

Obviously starting the hot stove thread is what did it! Or maybe it was when everyone said the season was over when it was 7-0 a few nights ago, probably the 10th time the season has seemed like it was over.

All I have ever wanted is for the last six games to be meaningful. Hope they don't blow it, but the Braves, as has been the case all year, are not perfect either.

As much as I didn't want them to just make the playoffs (mostly by winning the wild card), the division at least would be a more legitimate way to get into the playoffs and your season wouldn't come down to a one game playoff. I just hate the way the tea leaves are laid out. I hate that the last three games of the season are against the Marlins. The Philles have the rotation set up so that Wheeler, Nola and Gibson would pitch against the Braves. I would just like to get out of the Braves series two games up, so that at least winning one against the Marlins might be enough.

I'm not sure winning this division is any more honorable than winning this second wild card, but the latter is still looking like a harder task. Obviously the former gives you a much better chance, as well as three guaranteed games instead of one (and against a team we've beaten five times out of seven instead of the Dodgers or Giants).

I hate that we can't beat the Marlins, but that doesn't mean it would be easier if our last three were against the Mets. Just get there. Four days ago the season seemed over so if our biggest problem is a bullpen game against the Marlins in October, I'll take it.

I'm not expecting us to be leading the division before or after the Braves series, so it's all gravy. Would love to be proven wrong over the next 10 days but Atlanta will probably right themselves again in Phoenix and San Diego. Question is what will the Phillies do with their seven at home?

I confess that I have thrown in the towel several times this month. Yet this team bounces back. Really, they are in position to win the NL East but of course, they can also blow several games in the upcoming home stand and essentially destroy their chances. At least it looks like we will see meaningful games in the coming weeks.

Reverse black cat, Harry?

Ah, but now we have a double reversal since we have been posting about it...re-jinxing the un-jinxed jinx?

The 2022 Spring Training thread is still waiting in the wings. The 2022 Draft Thread might need to be deployed if it all comes down to the Marlins series.
