7 inning shutout for Eflin saves the pen. Can we finally break the doubleheader curse?

That was as good of a game as any Phillies pitcher has thrown this season. Kudos to Zach.

Outstanding, complete game shutout for Eflin and a solid Phillies win in game one.

Blue Jays doubled their hit total in the final inning, but did not score a run.

Bullpen not used so everyone available today is there for the second game, as needed.

Eflin record now 3-2 with a 4.28 ERA. Not bad for a mid-rotation starter these days.

Gregorius with a 3 hit game, Bohm and Gosselin with 2 hits each, and Harper the two run home run that moved the lead up from a single run and ignited the offense in the five run fifth inning.

Overall, a fine win for the Phillies.

Now to break the jinx and win two today.

Eflin is still a work in progress, first the double knee surgery, then the idiot PC who wanted him to focus on throwing 4 seamers high in the zone (people who don't understand statistics are dangerous). Now he can focus on being the best pitcher he is, and not try to become someone else. And he's slowing expanding his repertoire, when Price gets him to master that changeup, watch out!

He's only 26, and has a bright future ahead of him.
His 2 seamer is a couple MPH faster than Nola with a similar break, but not quite the same command, but I think his motion is less deceptive.
Nola took it to another level with his changeup, I think Eflin will find it does similar things for him, especially against LH hitters.
