Just like that, deja vu, another 2020 Phillies game. Blow multirun lead and lose a very winnable game in the late innings as the bullpen is unable to not give up runs.

Against Jacob deGrom, no less. With all those LOB's, we let them hang around. Reminds me of that September game in Washington last year when we scored four in the first off Scherzer with Nola on the mound for us. A game that should have been a gimme.

These guys are just losers. They don't know how to win and Girardi doesn't seem able to teach them.

I saw someone on twitter post a list of 11 loses where the Phillies had a lead of 2 or more runs and went on to lose. I think there are also a couple wins where they blew a multirun lead and came back to win.

I know this happens sometimes to every team but it just seems like this year, the Phillies are doing this far more often than we would normally expect.

Harper is really the issue right now. Not entirely his fault but with the other two guys out he can't be cold.

For all the talk of the bullpen and the perception blown leads we're 18-13 in 9 inning games, 3-1 in extra inning games and 3-9 in seven-inning games. Apparently our offense needs those extra innings and the pen somehow survives them (and our starting pitching isn't good enough for doubleheaders). But not tonight. They had a lot of chances. I wouldn't have left Wheeler in that long either, but we've seen how that goes.
