If the Phillies miss one of the top 2 seeds (or blow the division) you will be right. But I don't think you're gonna be.
Hoping Walker would be better was reasonable, hoping some of these other guys would be better was not unreasonable, and trading for another Thor or Lorenzen - let alone a megadeal - would have been unnecessary and not worth giving up a prospect for.
In '22 they did a lot better with both bullpen games and Falter. In '23 they probably did worse (i.e. Lorenzen stunk and Walker was fading and they traded Falter because he stunk too).
Still the best record in baseball even if they lose today.
