Bright side is that Ranger is looking better as a 3 now. Just because he is versatile does not mean he can't just be the 3rd starter too. Sanchez not looking that bad lately as well. Walker is the only secondary option that has not pitched much out of the bullpen so I am definitely concerned with his performance of late.

Sometimes one can wonder if all these long periods of rest with a 6-man rotation are a good thing. We might be better off with a 5-man rotation on a shorter leash (90 pitches) to combat inning counts. We should be able to do that after today if we want to.

Yeah they might be better of just sliding Walker into the Gibson/Falter spot where he is ready to start a game in the second round if it comes to it. Suarez or Sanchez both fine choices if the playoffs started tomorrow. Of course ideally they don't play three games. (And you can also argue for Suarez or Sanchez over Nola, but...)

I believe they indeed go back to regular rotation now. Wheeler already got himself back onto usual schedule. But Walker was having dead arm and Ranger was on IL and Lorenzen has struggled so it made sense to baby everyone.

As far as I can tell only Bobby Abreu (2001 and 2004) and Jimmy Rollins (2007) have ever gone 30-30 for the Phillies.
More impressively, Turner has a shot to do it without getting caught. If he finishes the season without a caught stealing he sets an MLB record. The current record is 23, held by the one and only Chase Utley.
