I would rather have him than not have him. Last year the Top 3 relievers were supposed to be Knebel, Hand and Familiar. Seranthony was a question market with the injury and Alvarado was just a question mark. Even Knebel was starting to pitch better before the injury took him down (which is why they got Robertson, who was obviously not perfect himself). This year's bullpen is deeper but has gone through the same sort of thing. A few guys who were meant to be locks weren't, a few guys have stepped up to replace them.
Y'know, in another thread we started talking about whether the old game with starters who go 7 plus a couple of relievers was better than the current one with shorter starts and more/better relievers, but how do we feel about the fact that the pitching staff in a playoff series is an entirely different beast than in the regular season. A closer hasn't even closed the deciding game of the World Series in a decade or something.
