A very satisfying win tonight. Sure, there were plenty of failures with runners on, but they came back from 2 down and forced extra innings, winning in 11. Phillies take 3 of 4 from the Braves for their third series win in a row. All good teams.

Atlanta came into this series 5 games behind the Phillies. They leave 7 games behind. Well done!

Off day on the holiday, then to Toronto for two games.

Didn't Strahm pitch multiple innings in the past seasons as well? Wonder if he is an option for multiple innings.

I assume everything is on the table in the postseason, but I also think they have changed Strahm's usage this season to mostly 1-inning outings and think that is why he has been even more effective.

Yesterday was probably a rare situation with Estevez where he had a short first inning so there was no pitch limit concern (19 total pitches in 2 innings). August 3rd we actually had him pitch the 9th and 10th innings so this was the second time we extended him in one of these situations. Day off tomorrow and the clean first innings were probably the driver here for the 2nd inning. Assume we will see them a bit more often in the postseason too with more rest and fewer trusted arms potentially.

Supposedly after throwing just seven pitches Estevez is the one who said he was ready to go back out.

Strahm was both a starter and more of a traditional middle reliever last year, as was Hoffman. This year they've both been "promoted" to later shorter outings.

Twice in this series Phillies win the game on a Snitker pitching decision (one non-change, one change).
