Phillies win. A great win for Nola tonight. Offense puts up 6 runs. A solid win to move over .500 for first time this season.

Phillies win 7 of last 8.

Neris gets the scoreless 9th inning, but managed to give up a couple hits.

Nola now 4-2 with 2.45 ERA.

Hoskins did not hit a home run tonight but was 2 for 4 with a double and a walk. Harper 1 for 2 with 3 walks. Home runs by Bohm (also had a double) and McCutchen (with 2 on base).

A nice win.

They need to move Bohm up the lineup and Segura down, I don't think Bohm will have trouble handling the pressure, he just looks like a hitter.

Nice to see Hoskins take a pitch the other way, I think that's the key for him, not trying to hit the ball the other way, just avoiding the "pull everything" approach, which is one reason I'm skeptical that Didi's good start is sustainable, he's one of the most pull heavy hitters I've seen.

Why is Didi's start not sustainable? He has been a pull hitter his entire career and he has been a hitter of this level (with power) since 2016 with the exception of his recovery from TJ surgery which depressed his stats last year. While an 830 OPS is a bit high for him, it is the same as 2018 and the ball is livelier now. He also has cut his K rate considerably while maintaining his walk rate from the last couple of years. Those are signs of a hitter maturing, not one with unsustainable offense.

He is hitting well enough (and Kingery has been disappointing enough) that they seriously need to think about extending him with a 2-3 year deal.
