I was beginning to think that the bloom was coming of Phillips's rose but he settled down well after a rough start.

Phillies kept Ohtani in check. If only Harper could get make it an MVP race again.

This team wins with offense but it just doesn't seem like Hays and Marsh have provided enough to justify the defensive downgrade. Now it might be moot if Hays it out but they should definitely only use him as Marsh's LF platoon partner and get Rojas back out there regularly. Nice that Marsh has been hitting LHP a little bit too though.

Go get a couple in Arizona (I won't be greedy, especially with Sunday's pitching up in the air).

If we split in Arizona, we will have a .500 trip. Even if that skid didn't happen, we would consider that an accomplishment.

For sure. It would have been an accomplishment in June, even. But I was already hoping they'd take two in Arizona after losing the LA series (having already lost the Seattle series) so I'll still settle for it.

Be interesting now if they see the Dodgers in the post-season. Obviously they'll have some guys back too.

Franzke was talking during last night's game about previous visiting players with 3 homers in a game in LA and talked about how Tommy Lasorda took it when Dave Kingman did it, so we get an idea of what might have happened if Tommy was still around and managing the Dodgers on Thursday.
