I heard Jim Duquette on the radio yesterday being interviewed about a number of topics. One was the ball and he talked about how no one in ownership or mgmt wants more HR's. He also talked about how the current brand of baseball is boring and many of listeners complain. My guess is the ball gets changed (more strict standards are applied) and HR's go down. I'd love to see teams realize that good things happen when you put the bat on the ball, a check swing bloop single is more exciting than a strikeout. Baseball is in a tough spot right now, with more foul balls, longer counts, etc.....hopefully change for the better is coming.
