From what I recall the Phillies winning percentage with the 4th and 5th starters isn't any worse - and for a while was even better - than with the 1-3.
Had they known Eflin would be out all year I'm sure they would have made another move. And yes, obviously the Pittsburgh deal falling through didn't help (though that might have just left Suarez in the bullpen).
I thought Moore would have been waived ages ago but he came back and pitched really well in those two starts. Not as much in the last two. But he's still pretty much what a 5th/6th starter looks like. Maybe Falter would be better but they're both going to pitch meaningful innings regardless.
Seems like Eflin might still be able to make a couple of starts at the end of September maybe? But A) will he be any good? and B) Moore or Falter would still be his tandem partner
