Kudos to Alvarado for a strong ninth inning in the "closer" role. He got the job done. Looked good with two Ks and a routine ground out. He did not let the failure of Hoskins to make the play on the pop up shake him, coming back for the K.
I agree that Hoskins clearly didn't realize he was about to hit the dugout rail and it did throw him some. Still, those are plays that great defenses make most every time. I'm very glad it didn't hurt the Phillies tonight.

Wheeler gets the W and the bullpen of Neris and Alvarado retired 5 in a row after Neris walked the first batter he faced. Wheeler dominated for the first six innings but sputtered in the 7th and 8th. Overall, the pitching was just good enough to win the game. That is always good.
