Phillies win again. Plenty of offense and not so great pitching, but sufficient for this game.

It's really funny to hear the NBC Sports talking heads act like this team is the 1927 Yankees after whining about them for so many nights. Thomson never doubted!

It really wasn't all that long ago that the Phil's had a negative run differential. Even recently it was only +20.

Certainly we had to wonder if Turner was ever going to come around, but at the same time, that was the hope and goal. Along with Harper eventually finding his timing and power coming out of the surgery.

and that monthly home run record done without Hoskins (though also nine hitters).

If Sosa can hit 2 more HRs and Marsh gets one more.. we will have 9 players with double digit HRs this season.

I was at the game last night; really good seats (directly behind home plate) in the HoF Club section. The Harper HR was the hardest hit ball I've ever seen live, so loud off the bat it sounded like an M80 firework going off in the same section of seats.

Crowd was electric. Grichuk looked like someone we'd like to acquire!! His HR off of Alfonso was drilled, too. Lorenzen gave up three or four hits on his very first pitch of the inning--should have just thrown balls.

Lost in the turnaround of Turner is the ridiculous month that Harper is having. He wasn't doing that bad before, but he had no power for the entire season, now he is almost a lock for a HR a game it seems (along with Schwarber and Turner).

I'm not sure it's been lost/unnoticed, just didn't have a cute story like Turner's standing ovation, plus Turner went from bad to good whereas Bryce was just a little off and then turned back into Bryce (just like last fall). Announcers last night were wondering if he could still sneak into the MVP race. He could still be player of the month too.
