I love the way Harper plays the game with intensity, but I don't think he'll be the one calling out other guys. The incident with Papelbon resulted when Papelbon challenged him about his lack of hustle. The incident with Strickland was a result of being thrown at. I just don't see Harper as the one to challenge other teammates to play with more intensity - the way he does it is by playing the way that he does, expecting others to follow suit.

The reason they signed MIller and paid him so well is he was actually a major league starter last year - albeit, mostly as a DH, and of course, only for 60 games (44 starts). Being in the field this much is probably what exposes him (or at least lowers his WAR); the decline in offense is probably due to age as much as anything (and also due to age, he probably can't play the other infield positions well anymore - if he ever did). He was 29 last time he played in Philly; he'll be 32 shortly after this season ends.
