"Times through the order," that's one of those newfangled Matt Klentak stats, ain't it?
This team is nothing if not consistent. They can hang with any good team, and when they lose a cluster of games they shouldn't, it's still balanced out by winning some they shouldn't (even if that feels pretty distant right now). But that ultimately gets you exactly where they've always been, around .500.
The trade deadline moves were enough to tread water through some pitching injuries and have a nice run when the offense showed up; the question now is can they get back to that level at full strength (if that even exists) and even if they can, is it too late? The answer should come pretty quick (and it's hard argue the Braves and Reds aren't simply the better teams). 4-10 since the winning streak; even if they take three of four from Arizona at home a 9-game road trip looms - at a time when they probably need to go 10-3 over this next stretch, not 7-6.
