The 3-2 pitch to Turner was very, very close to the bottom outside corner of the strike zone box. Certainly a pitch call a strike by many umpires but also called a ball by umpires. My thoughts are that if you don't start the batter off with 3 pitches that are clearly not close to the strike zone, then you don't start in a hole where every pitch has to be close.
Regardless, Nola comes up huge with the K on Harper to end the 8th. His pitch count went over one hundred in that last at bat. I agree that he was struggling with the curve after the two out double and clearly was running out of gas. Great that he got through the inning with no damage.
