Yup I said that about Hector during the Mets series (when he blew a save but we won). There are also times when the splitter just isn't crisp (and the fastball is either another ball in the count, or hittable).
Girardi said no when he was asked if Hector was tipping his pitches but you don't have to know it's coming to know it's coming.
Workman is nothing special, he's had a decent three-year run and was "the closer" last year but he wasn't pitching great this season. Basically like getting a Nicasio or a Hunter, but he's not a power guy (and possibly too similar to Hector). We basically gave up Nick Pivetta for him so we certainly weren't getting Rollie Fingers.
Tough situation for him last night (both in the game and the travel). We need them both because the fact that there is no one better hasn't changed.
