Three runs in the ninth makes it a one run loss, but a loss none the less. Being shut down for 8 innings on this national stage gives the casual fan the impression of a mediocre Phillies team. Being close is not good enough to be a championship team.

Phillies now 2-5 in the last 7 games. Record now down to 10 over .500. Still have 2.5 game hold on the first wild card and play the Giants head to head at home starting tomorrow.
Not panic time but it is time to win some series. Homestand coming up with 3 game sets with the Giants, Cardinals, and Angels. Series wins in all three will get things back on track.
I think this is a good team but it is time for them to step up and show it.
