Absolutely embarrassing baseball today. This team plays like a AAA team when they play against the Mets.

Their hitters are better than our pitchers. And their pitcher are better than our hitters, though it shouldn't be this extreme. Doesn't mean the Phillies are bad, just not anywhere near as good as the Mets as currently constituted. Basically the Phillies' offensive (and power) slump coincides almost entirely with playing the Mets twice, as well as with Schwarber's injury.

Swinging strike (80.4 mph curveball)

Bradley Zimmer strikes out swinging.

Hard to get excited watching Zimmer at the plate. Also hard to get a hit swinging at balls like he just struck out on.

It is pretty clear that the Mets are the better team this season, but I take some heart in the fact that the best team doesn't win it all more often than they do. Of course, it the Dodgers or the Mets don't win it all, it probably will not be the Phillies winning it.

But just maybe, it could be. ???

Kyle Schwarber

What an absolute joke of three at bats. I’m in a bad mood today and can’t watch this garbage anymore.

Three more strikeouts. Swing at pitches not in the strike zone and take ones that clearly are.

This was probably the game of the two today that we figured we had a good chance to win.

Maybe Falter comes through in game two.

Of course, the Phillies could come back in this game. They could.

Brogdon coming in to relieve Wheeler.

I mean this was the series we should have finally gotten to the Mets. We miss both Scherzer and DeGrom. Have our two aces going in the first two games. Plus it’s at home. Instead we are going to be 0-2 in the games Wheeler and Nola started. Could only be a half game up on the third wild card spot when the day ends.
