Good to win this first game in San Diego. The Phillies really needed to win and they need at least one more this weekend.
Phillies pitchers give up 3 runs on 4 hits but walk 10. That is awful. Bradley got 5 outs but is charged with a run on one hit, a single, and his 3 walks. Neris got 5 outs without a hit or run but also walked 3. Moore was okay as the starter but it sure would be nice for him to at least finish 5 innings. He gives up the other 2 runs on 3 hits and yes, 4 walks.
Offense scores enough to win the game. Nice clutch home run from Harper with two out in the 3rd inning and the RBI two out doubles from Realmuto (3rd inning) and McCutchen (8th inning). Phillies only had 5 hits but were 2 for 6 with RISP and left only 4 on base. The Padres were 0 for 5 with RISP but thanks to all the walks left 12 runners on base, in spite of only getting 4 hits for the game.
Neris gets the win since Moore failed to go 5 innings; Kennedy the 4 out save.
Braves win again (7 in a row) to stay 4.0 games ahead of the second place Phillies. The third place Mets lose to fall 2.0 games behind the Phillies.
