JT 7-10 with a walk and 6 RBI over the last 2 games. OPS back up to .805 after dipping to .780 a week or two ago.

Me: "What was the score?"
Official Scorer: "We'll let you know."

OK!

The official scorer has conceded what everyone knew: The final is 7-5, Phillies.

I always thought it was weird that the teams get to pick the official scorer. Always thought it should be a 5th member of the umpiring crew.. would eliminate decisions that seem to benefit the home team player etc.

nope.

It is sad when the official scorer doesn't know the score.

The umpire called the runner safe at home for the run. The official scorer cannot change that so clearly, he should not have taken long to get this right. Certainly by the time next half inning started. Since the score can affect the way teams approach play, not getting this right until after the game is inexcusable and really is cause to replace this individual as an official scorer.

It does seem like the same sad reliever performance in a Phillies uniform that we have grown to (almost) expect, but I think Kennedy will be of value this season in spite of his 18.00 NL ERA so far. It was certainly good to see Suarez and Neris do well tonight in their new roles.

I'd like to have seen Suarez pitch another inning, I think he's underrated by Philly fans.
Pitched 122 innings in 2017, 139 in 2018, so he can handle a starter role.
.175 BABIP isn't sustainable, but 3.32 FIP says he's more than a BABIP artifact.

Throwing 95-96-95 in the 3rd inning, he's added a bit of velocity, has nice command and a 4 seam, 2 seam, changeup combo.
I think the key to success going forward as a starter is improving his slider.

In three innings, Suarez threw only eight more pitches than Anderson threw in one inning.

Anderson so far as a Phillie:
2 IP, 18.00 ERA, 2.00 WHIP, 2 HR, 3 H, 3K, 1 BB, .333 BAA., 24.5 pitches per innings pitched and 4.9 pitches per plate appearance. The last two stats are markedly above his career averages so perhaps those last two will settle down. Hopefully, LSP is right and Kennedy won't be this season's David Phelps.

Are we talking Ian Anderson, the pitcher, here... or Ian Anderson, he of the electric flute?
