Yeah, it can make for some depressing 'entertainment' when they go collectively cold like this. At times I get frustrated as well because they don't seem to help themselves out - e.g., some just seem to grab the stick and go up there hacking. Take some pitches, make smaller swings and possibly foul a few off (or slice a single)... get the pitch count up and wear the pitcher down.
But that could just be me getting grumpy at continued slumps.
