Although we were all disappointed with losing the series in New York and stress from the team being shut out 3 times in 4 games to end last week, they are 10-4 in the month of August (10-3 in last 13 games). Not too shabby.

Hopefully Marsh does not need an IL stint. Phillies think it is a bone bruise which might only be a few days. Assume they can get by with Maton out there or even Stubbs (who actually has 13 games of big league experience in the outfield). There is part of me that thinks Stubbs just deserves more playing time. Maton too of course, has been hitting very well all year. LH pitcher tomorrow so I suppose they could use Sosa too. Yairo Munoz did have much more experience in the outfield when he was up here.

Bone bruises can be tough (and hurt like hell). But possible to play through it after a few days too I guess (i.e. no chance of further injury/complications).

Certainly they can get through tomorrow. Not that it is applicable but do we know who else is even on the taxi squad? In 2020 at least there was a always a catcher but if memory serves Marchan and Sands are both currently unavailable, or weren't until recently.

It does hurt when a couple players are on the active roster but not available to play. I think they have to evaluate where they stand on Thursday. I am sure they do not want to put someone on the IL who will be available to return to action in a few days.

With a LH pitcher starting for the Reds, I would not be surprised to see Sosa in left field tomorrow. It might make some sense to put Sosa at third, but I don't think it would be smart to put Bohm in LF without him having some time to work on playing corner outfield.

They probably DH Bohm with Sosa in the infield. They will have to have a left-handed bench bat face the left-handed pitcher out there. If they played Sosa at LF and Bohm at 3B, the DH would be left-handed too though I guess that bat could be Hall. They have just not been inclined to play Hall against any left-handed pitching.
