Hard to look worse than that at bat for Hoskins. Just when you hope he is getting out of his funk, he proves you wrong.

Kingery with a two hit game. Mets started the at bat in a shift but moved to a more normal alignment toward the end of the at bat. Kingery hits grounder up the middle and likely an easy out IF the Mets had not shifted out of the shift before that pitch.

Kingery started the day around .091 BA but now is a lofty .128, so he should stay above the hundred line for at least a few games.

Adam Morgan will start the ninth for the Phillies. Gets the first out on a first pitch pop foul to JT. Phillies now going to Neris with one out in the ninth.

If you weren't watching, Andrew Knapp is wearing #7. He previously wore the now being retired number 15. As number 7, he went 0 for 4, dropping his hot early season BA to .417

Not good to hear someone "in the bubble" has to go on the COVID IL. Who would have predicted that Roman Quinn would get COVID? The guy is always dealing with some injury or illness.

From what I heard said was that Quinn has some mild symptoms and as far as I know, did not have a positive test. Any symptoms trigger a response. We should know by tomorrow if he has COVID or not. I would hope that if he tests negative today and again tomorrow, he would be ready to come back Tuesday. I think being put on the COVID IL allows a return when medically cleared.

We will see.

We don't know this yet, PC. He reportedly had some symptoms this AM that could be COVID, so they told him to stay home and they're testing. But mild symptoms "that could be COVID" could just as easily be a rhinovirus, or an adenovirus, etc., depending on what the mild symptoms (which AFAIK have not been spelled out in reporting) actually are. He may well test negative - e.g., may well not have even been exposed, much less infected.

I know we assume the worst with Roman Quinn - we've been conditioned to do so! - but we should not assume anything based on very sketchy information.

Same thing that happened with Bryan Price, and several members of the Reds (though now the Reds have positive tests two weeks later).

Even with the new rules guy are still allowed to see family members or run essential errands (though if I haven't been inside a supermarket since March I'd think mostly well-off pro athletes could also stick to pick-up and delivery). They can still catch a cold!

Hope they all get flu shots the minute they've available.

With Bruce and Segura leaving today's game and Haseley - who is only mildly injured - not eligible to return for a week I hope Quinn is back by Tuesday (if he tests negative today and torrow he could be right?) Nick Williams missed his moment, if Bruce and Haseley are both out.

There was a post in the game thread that he was headed for the COVID IL. I read that as results had come back, but I was probably jumping the gun. I just feel sorry for Quinn...he gets all sorts of bad breaks. I know someone on one of the boards joked months ago about him being destined to test positive...not such a joke now.

Definitely because they really did not need the extra RH bat with Garlick. I assume he got the call because he was on the 40. Few LH bats on the team now, especially with power beyond Harper and Didi.
