It's not often that a guy hitting .181 can be "slumping", but zSchwarber certainly is. No idea why you keep him hitting lead off and maximize his at bats when other guys are out hitting him and not slumping.

Phillies have scored 2 runs in the last 27 innings. That is simply unacceptable baseball.

Yeah but even the best relief pitchers occasionally have a bad night (whether Seranthony is one of our best for this situation another question, but that's not on him). Schwarber in LF is never going to have a good night, even if he doesn't make an obvious bad play (or makes a good one).

That last pitch just got away from him but it was probably gonna score a run if it hadn't hit Biggio anyway.

Very poor game tonight and they really handed the game to Toronto.

First and formost, the walks and HBP in the 8th inning cost the game. Just cannot have a key reliever perform that poorly. The HBP was goint to be a wild pitch and a run scored if the ball didn't hit the batter.

Only hit in the 8th was the one almost caught by Schwarber. But without the walks/HBP, that is not a game changer.

Pinch hitting for Sosa also seemed to me to be a bad move. Sosa was 2 for 2. Cave looked awful and was struck out.

Losing streak goes to 3.

Wheeler turns in a good start and the rest of the team fiddle it away. The hitters seem to be chasing bad pitches too often again. Castellanos did it again in making the last out to en the game. Offense has been missing since the clubbing of the Twins last Friday.

I’d also contend that if Sosa was stil at third he probably makes the play in the 8th inning that Bohm just missed in foul territory.
