Good one, EF.
I thought Dominguez may be over throwing. He fell behind each batter and one of his 2-2 fastballs hit the dirt at the plate. Some of his fastballs that were about 2 mph slower seemed to be more effective.
Neshek gave up 3 hits and the unearned run, but he had some real bad luck on the hits. The pitching was not great tonight. We have lost several games of late with far better pitching. Yet with the offense awake, it was effective.
Good to see the offense score 7 runs on 12 hits. Wilson Ramos lead the attack going 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and a triple, 3 RBIs. A nice pinch hit RBI single from Santana to tie the game in the 4th. I think the Phillies showed great inner strength coming back from 3 runs down after Velasquez blew up in the third inning. This win and the play against the Red Sox both in Boston and at home should really help the team bond and grow together.
The upcoming series with the Mets should be tough. I hope the Phillies show the same resiliency and drive as they have shown tonight. The Mets pounded the Orioles tonight, 16-5.
Braves win as well, so no gain in the standings. Nationals losing to the Cardinals.
