Also I am so happy to see Seranthony closing. He is so icy methodical in the ninth.

Also good job by Thor to battle and keep us in the game. He settled in after a few innings.

What a come back 8th inning! Six of eight batters got hits and the other two lined out. Kudos to Syndergaard for a solid, effective start. Six innings, two runs should always keep the Phillies in the game. Bellatti not sharp in the 8th inning, but in the end, the Marlins only added one run. Dominguez gets his 8th save of the year with a 1-2-3 ninth inning. Really a solid win for the Phillies.

Another tough matchup tomorrow as the Phillies go for the sweep.

Syndegaard doesn't look quite right at this point...he faced the Marlins earlier this year and struck out 8 in 5 IP, also giving up 2 runs. His WHIP as a Phillie is over 1.7.

In contrast, in AAA ball last night, Bailey Falter went 6 IP, gave up 1 hit, and struck out 8. I don't know the exact formula for translating stats from the IL to MLB, but that's got to be better than a 1.73 WHIP, right?

They are tinkering with his stuff. Will it work? Who knows? But he GTJD.

We'll be lucky if Falter and Sanchez don't make a few more starts this year regardless (hopefully not injuries but perhaps COVID, doubleheaders). Roster expansion not far off either.

Thor still has Falter beat by about .100 WHIP on overall major league stats this year.
