i'm sorry , but as bad as the pitching was i think this is an indictment on the offense. Vince was nibbling, as he does. he doesn't trust his stuff (whatever he has) and was drilled. but in that band box, the offense has to score more than 5. i know they had a great offensive series against the cubs. and i might be too critical here, but with their hitting, there has to be more runs. i think vince's time is coming to and end. Seems like a nice kid, but too much nibbling and way too many pitches. Straight fastball that will be killed, as we saw, if his off speed stuff is not there. i think he was intimidated by the park tonight and the phils, facing a close to 9 era pitcher, didn't respond.
