A very winnable game not won.

Exposed some serious weaknesses on this Phillies team.

Mets continue to dominate Phillies at Citi Field.

I know after a loss I’m thinking of all the failed times but this team has a very hard time playing small ball and pushing a run in when the pressure is on. Probably a sign of a young team but it is very frustrating.

It was the right decision though since Nola is facing Corey (not Roy) Oswalt (7.94 ERA) in the nitecap. Tie game with the middle of the order up did put Seranthony in about as high a leverage situation as one could hope for.

It's really hard to win DH's.

It's hard to believe the Phillies are 19-8 in one-run games with this weak a bench. Their 4th OF (Altherr lately), Valentin, Cozens and the 2nd catcher? I can't imagine going into August & September with that as the bench.

Wilmer Flores is actually just the kind of guy the Phils could use--can hit a fastball, hits LHP, and is accustomed to the role. Phils also seem to be auditioning vet bench types at AAA right now such as Plouffe, Goins, and Espinosa. I don't think it will be long before one of those guys gets a call.

I also still believe this bench really misses Roman Quinn.

While I too am disappointed that we used Seranthony and our best bullpen guys in a loss, the reality is that this game was set up well for a win in 9 innings if Valentin executes better in the top of the 8th.

AND you know how the phils handle a young pitcher with a high ERA. This second isn't looking to promising. i'm going out a limb and say a sweep by the mets. and they are terrible.

Perhaps more a result of leading the league in the 3 true outcomes or what ever they are calling them...K, BB, HR not enough positive outs when they can be used
