Morgan didn't do much for his job security with that outing, but he finally got the 3 outs and one run really doesn't matter in this game.

I am very pleased to see the offensive breakout tonight. I hope it continues. Good games at the plate for multiple players. I'm happy for Kingery, who went 4 for 5 with a walk tonight.

I was upset early by some sloppy play in the field in the third inning that lead to the departure of Pivetta. The offensive explosions later in the game made all that seem unimportant, but if does remind us that there is plenty of things that can be improved on this team in spite of the outstanding record so far.

I'd probably have given the win to Davis, but I can understand not wanting to give it to a guy who got five outs and allowed three runners and a run. Seriously, though, look at the pitching lines tonight. The only 1-2-3 inning was Leiter in mop-up work. I think you can make a strong case that no one deserved the win, so awarding it was kind of a crap shoot. It's going to look ridiculous no matter who gets it.

Agree. Unfortunately, tonight is not his only outing this year that has failed to impress me. Of course, he has looked good at times. My thoughts are that he has not looked good enough, consistently enough, to have secured his spot in the Phillies bullpen. We know that there will be more ups and downs with relievers to and from LV, and I would not be at all surprised to see Morgan back at AAA at some point this season.

My concern with him tonight was falling behind hitters with a very large lead.
