Big time to get the win tonight with Degrom pitching.

Great win putting up 5 runs in the top of the ninth off the Mets' top relievers. Diaz threw 16 pitches and Familia 22. Add in 4 by Avilan for a total of 42 for the 9th inning.

Velasquez only went 5 innings but kept the game close. The bullpen gives the Phillies 4 innings of scoreless ball with only one hit and one walk over those final four innings. That is bullpen performance that wins games. As Realmuto batted for the second time in the ninth, I was thinking maybe I'd bring someone other than Neris in for the ninth but I do think shutting the Mets down in the ninth was important. I was not happy with a walk with two out in the ninth and having a 5 run lead, but Neris got the next out quickly to end the game. No harm. I was glad to see a strong sixth inning from Alvarez.

Is there some way that we could just play the Mets another 18 games a year instead of those fearsome Marlins?
