I mean, I'm not quite ready to dismiss Nick yet. He was an all-star and a .300 hitter just two weeks ago. And I'm not worried about Turner long-term yet. And JT is still fine even if he's overpaid for offense he can no longer provide. But any or all of these guys could still come back next year and deliver. 2025, probably not.
But reality is, Dombrowski signed all these guys and Middleton is all in for this narrow window, so if they have to eat a bunch of $ or go into the next tax bracket they should. The only alternative to that - unless most of these guys turn it around - is to not replace Nola (long-term) and not replace Wheeler and actually go into a 2025 rebuild. But that still leaves this year and next. You don't sell out for it, but you keep doing what you did last year (both at the deadline and, to some extent, the off-season, though hopefully there will be trades and small free agent. No QO guys for sure. Which is also another reason to keep Nola though).
Nick is still the guy I get rid of though. He's RH, he plays Harper's position (and you don't really want him in the field anyway, including at 1B) and like you say at least Schwarber has power and walks, Nick either hits or he doesn't.
