Smyly is looking like a steal, FB consistently 91-93, tailed off a little but still hit 93 in the 5th.
Real nice curve, didn't see many changeups, he'll need that going forward. But a nice cutter.
Smyly is an example what Klentak needs to do more, search through the trash for hidden gems, he's coming off TJ and struggled earlier this year, but that's why he was available. If he keeps this up the rest of the year, good candidate for a 2 year deal to add depth while they develop young pitching. One advantage of money is you can give bonuses to guys to go to AAA and cut guys and eat their salary - so you can stockpile "gambles" and not worry about the misses.
Haseley is starting to look like he belongs, still a bit raw at the plate but holding his own. If he can keep this up, one less question to answer going into next year.
