That’s why Rojas was recalled when Harper and Schwarber went on the IL. His defense can be a game-changer.

Fun game! My biggest take away is that I saw Johann Rojas catch a routine fly ball with 2 hands! If nothing else it shows he’s committed to improvement.

Had the joy of traveling from PA to Wrigley with my 12 year old son for games last night and today.
Main game thoughts from last night (and nothing earth shattering):
-Running the trio of Merrifield, Pache and Rojas out there against a lefty in a playoff game cannot happen. Just too many outs. Hard to justify Merrifield and Pache as major leaguers at this point. I hope the Phillies do not hold on to Merrifield because of contract or veteran status. Rojas' defense and speed make his presence with the cub more palatable.
-Cubs had very few hard hit balls last night and scored on some well or luckily-placed hits.
-Kerkering was aggressive using fastball, which I liked
-Alvarado overwhelmed most hitters and my confidence in him is up over previous years.
-Bohm and Castellanos are massive human beings. Next pitch in the picture I'm attaching here was Bohm's homer!

They still managed to win last year with the Pache/Rojas playoff OF in the games where they did it, and they wouldn't have played all three of those guys yesterday if the roster was full.

But I'm fairly confident it will be an entirely different LF in October, even if they do keep one of Pache or Merrifield on the roster. I hope Whit is gone, and they really do need to ditch both because they'll also need a LH bench bat (even if it's just Clemens or Dahl). Though they can go with a five-man bench in the first round.
