All kidding aside, has the data set changed? They were 37-41 on July 2, 45-44 on July 16, 48-48 on July 23 and now probably 50-52 tomorrow. Games back pretty much the same at any given point. No indication they've been anything but buyer, with a front office that sees a .500 team that can be improved. Problem is the trade acquisitions might not work any better than the off-season adds did.
Nobody is gonna be happy tomorrow - not the people who want to sell, nor the people who want to go for it. They want to do just enough to act like they're still in it, and keep people coming to the ballpark, but not many will be fooled.
(If they did trade Cutch and Segura though, attendance would dip below 15,000 once they're further out).
