I hope someone is cleaning out Familia's locker at this point. Literally could not be clearer that he cannot succeed in this situation. Good that this wasn't a home game.

Phillies pitching gave up 3 hits in 8 innings. Familia gives up 4 hits in 1/3 of an inning.

Luckily, Seranthony gets the save and the Phillies get the win. However, Familia leaves the Pirates feel good about their chances and causes the Phillies to use Dominguez in a game where he should not have had to even warm up.

Did Girardi come back to manage the ninth today? Glad we got a win, but it is absolutely unacceptable that we had to use our closer for two outs in this one. If Familia is still on the team by the end of the series then there is a major problem with our management.

What seems like a laugher turns into a heart stopper. Wheeler pitches a plus game, gets great run support and still almost loses the win.

Seranthony can send Familia a check for the value of that one save on his future salary.

It's gotta be time, whenever and however (DFA before or after a trade). Hopefully they can get through the weekend one arm short if they don't in fact cut him loose before the end of this series.

With performances like we saw tonight, being a pitcher short would be a step in the right direction.

I don't want to pile on Familia. He has, in fact, pitched somewhat better of late. Still, I am done with him. Ideally, they can send him somewhere for the marginal prospect or even just for taking his contract for the remainder of the year.
