Solid win today. Really nice to get a series win against the Braves. Have to really take advantage of our series against the Pirates. Can’t settle for 2-2. Need at least 3 wins.

A very important win for the Phillies to close out this home stand. While 2-4 is not good enough and the 0-3 against a bad Chicago team was really bad, they do win a series against Atlanta, a team they need to beat.

Upcoming road trip takes them to Pittsburgh for four and then two in Atlanta. 4-2 is the minimum that they need to achieve.

I think there will be changes to the team while they are on the road. I am hoping for something inspiring from DD.

Every season is filled with ups and downs. The Phillies are in position to make the post season and if you are in it, they anything is possible.

Of course, they are also in position to collapse and fall out of the running.

I am expecting good play in August and September and a pretty good ending to the season.

At a pivotal point in the game, Gibson threw a four-pitch top of the fifth, barely allowing Morton a break before going back out to the mound.

“I don’t want to speak for Charlie, but I’ve been on the other end of that and that’s tough once you get in the fifth or sixth inning,” Gibson said. “I’m always trying to have quick innings.”

Crap I was so busy with work that I forgot today was a day game. What team is this…the one that gets swept by the Cubs or wins a series against the Braves?

It's the same team in both cases! I mean, the difference between a .480 team and a .520 team is doing the good stuff just a little bit more than the bad stuff, but that's about it. If they were a bad team they'd be almost out of the race and if they were a really good team they'd be in the division race. And if you throw out Girardi's time they are a good team that has to be a really good team to ever dig out of that hole. Hopefully the growth we've seen from a few guys and the upcoming changes/additions/returns will get them there.

I'm sure if we were Yankees fans we'd still be complaining about their recent stretch of losses, or that they dropped a series to the Reds - but that really is about the only flaw on their schedule.
