Yeah yeah, really ugly (I couldn't even come into the thread during the 10th). But they just swept the Marlins (so they can beat the bad teams) and had that respectable, if low-offense series on the road against the Cardinals.
The lack of depth may well be catching up to them - bullpens aren't gonna be as great as this bullpen was forever, and the offense remains at around 50% strength (between the injuries and the black holes) with a few key people failing to step up. But that's where the trades and returning players have to close some gaps.
Win tomorrow and then try and go 4-3 into the trade deadline (1-2 against the Braves and a split in Pittsburgh).
I guarantee you if we were Dodgers or Mets or Astros fans we would still perceive them to be "flat" or as having trouble with bad teams. Just not as often, because that's the difference between a .525-caliber team and a .600-caliber team.
