Funny there. Franco was playing all the way back, Marte should have bunted (if he can). He would have beaten it out easily, as it was a grounder that Franco got near the bag was less than 1 step from beating it out.
The game has changed. We have a few guys that can use their speed and bunt when the opponent plays back, but every player should be able to because situations come up that require it. Lost art I guess in trying to get the big innings, but when the biggest inning you can get is 1 run the game needs to be played differently.
I think the Pirates Manager made some mistakes there
