I don’t really know what to think of Ranger’s outing...he was off a few mph from his usual radar readings, but a missed call cost him in the big inning. This outing does worry me, though, since he’s previously hit a wall in mid-to-late July.

What do you guys think?

Inquirer story mentioned the demarcation point last year was 80 innings, which he has just hit. But that was sandwiched around a trip to the IL. This year he got that out of the way to start the season. But in '23 he did both. It's always going to be a concern - both the durability and how well he can pitch for how many innings.

He didn’t seem to be able to get the spin on the ball like he has been doing. Hopefully it’s a one off thing.

Kruk identified that he had no command at all of the change up early on and predicted it would be a long day for the Phillies because of this.

Hopefully, it was a one off.

I just hope that this series doesn't turn out to be an in-hindsight red flag like that Athletics series before the break last year.

I don't think we need wait for longer hindsight this time. The Phillies are 20-21 since June 1. But they've also banked enough wins that they probably - but not definitely - still make the playoffs playing .500 ball. .530 would be better. .550 maybe makes us feel better/keeps the higher seed.
