Was a good idea to try the steal, just didn't work. Maybe would have made sense to send Rojas out to run, but Stott is capable of stealing.

A successful steal puts two in scoring position with one out. It took a very good throw to get the out. Probably worth the try there, but when the runner is out it becomes easy to second guess.

Positive tonight was coming back from 3 runs down to tie the game. The bullpen has been very solid most of the year, but sometimes they are going to give up some runs. Seemed like a game we might just come back and win, especially with two on and one out in the ninth, but not to be tonight.

Even though they had success with Hoffman for two innings a few days ago, he really is a one inning pitcher most days. Saw him in the minors. First inning great, the second had the wheels come off. He has been good for us, no doubt, but I would limit the two inning games. On to tomorrow!

Kruk really liked the way Hoffman pitched his first inning. But that leadoff walk - reminded me of the leadoff walk against Atlanta after Ranger had just pitched 7 (?) shut out innings against them - a zero on the guts meter - and the game was lost right there. Sleepy night at the plate again for the Phils. Covey was warming up with Hoffman - who would you rather see give the game away? Hoffman had some credibility after his previous last outing. Not any more.

The Phils love certain players that don't perform, for some reason. Sosa must just tear it up in practice, but he looks like hell in most of the games. I wouldn't miss him. The pen needs another arm or two.

Is today's game huge? Yes it is, Phils fans - the Phils are trying to decide how good they are, they're playing a division leader and the game can go either way. Time to get consistent at home for the Phils.

Why no accountability for Harper's AB vs Milner?

Accountability? For every at-bat? You do know that the best hitters in baseball, at their peak, have failed to reach base 60% of the time? This is one of the hardest things to do in sports. How many quarterbacks would survive with a completion percentage of 35%? How many shooting guards with a scoring rate of 35% would survive?

Jumping all over a player for a bad at-bat is... well, it's ignorant, in my opinion. It's ignorant of the reality that all major league batters fail, and when they fail, it's often not very pretty.

It's not a slam on Bryce for a strikeout. Strikeouts happens. He's been everything advertised. That display against Milner was a very bad display. Bat never left shoulder. It seemed uncaring & something phans don't deserve. It's a poor reflection on his team & the organization. I would bet a paycheck that something was off for Bryce in that moment. Sunset. Hard lefty. Whispers of not feeling well. We are owed accountability from horse's mouth. It's uncharacteristic of Bryce & he needs to be accountable. I'm optimistic that he will be & it will end up making sense.
