Honestly, it's just baseball (and the ever-streaky Phillies). 3-3 on this road swing would have been a good result given the quality of opposition; arguably the anti-vax selfish players made them drop to 2-4.
And 3-3 was also their record against Atlanta and St. Louis at home (with the Nats providing a breather).
Thomson isn't a wizard - this team is not as good as the 19-8 June (especially without Harper) but also never should have been as bad as the 10-18 May. They are still .545 in July and that's probably what they will be at season's end (a likely very happy result if so, 88 wins).
Given the injuries to both position players and starters they are overachieving especially with JT and Castellanos not producing at the plate.
But yes, they've lost four in a row, and it will be hard not to make that five given tomorrow's pitching match-up (and I don't imagine Bohm will be back either).
