Personally I gotta think that while I don't believe anyone is mad at the unvaccinated players, the issue loomed over this entire series, and the team looked flat.

Whelp, just try to take one with Wheeler in Toronto, take the .500 result on the road against two good teams,

Toronto has lost 4 in a row and 9 of their last 10. They don’t have pitchers listed yet for this 2-game series. It is possible one of the games will go to Gausman if he’s ready to come off the IL. Berrios will most likely pitch the other game of the series. Toronto recently put Kikuchi on the IL, so they’re down 2 starting pitchers right now just like the Phillies. So while a split seems like the most likely outcome, it’s also possible that the Phillies could be catching Toronto at the right time, and maybe we can take advantage of that with a sweep.

Phillies also singlehandedly turned St. Louis into a struggling team, until they didn't.

Of course you also have to think Toronto has played more tough teams.

I would guess they put him on the restricted list for the two days and hope he is okay to play by Friday.

I don't mean over that stretch, I mean in general. i.e., a 45-42 team in the AL East is probably four or five games better than a 46-41 team in the NL East if they switched schedules.

Looks like they just had a terrrible road trip and will be raring to win at home too. They did seem to peak in April, however.

Berrios is streaky; hasn’t had a great year, but did pitch well his last time out. Gausman, on the other hand, was having a good year, but could be rusty if he does come off the IL to start one of the games. If he doesn’t, it could be a bullpen game for Toronto. Just hoping that the Phillies are catching them at the right time.

If he could be back in 10 days though an IL move would make sense even though they could replace him for Toronto. He could potentially play the first game bsck from the All Star break and only miss 3 games this weekend. 2 in Toronto, 1 day off, 3 game series, 4 game break = 10 days.

They could put him on the restricted list and still make the IL retroactive I'd think. But probably nothing useful to do with that loophole. Moniak would already clear waivers. Robertson?
